Alternative Energy Council

Since there’s a growing need for the development of alternative energy to replace dependence on oil and other fossil fuels, governments around the world are creating alternative energy councils and commissions to address this issue. One example of which is the Energy Council of Canada.

The Energy Council of Canada

Acting as the alternative energy council of Canada, it is a group composed of companies and organizations both from the public and private sectors. The council is created to research and analyze alternative energy initiatives and disseminate information about their findings. By working closely with different industries, the council is able to formulate effective strategies on implementing alternative energy strategies in Canada. And not just domestically, the council is also involved in global issues. Being a member of the World Energy Council, The Energy Council of Canada also works with different organizations around the world to promote the use of alternative energy and determine its most effective application.

Programs for alternative energy development

The council has several projects for the promotion of alternative energy use and awareness. One of these is backing up energy forums and conferences. Another is the documentation of plans, status, and development of potential energy projects in Canada. Part of the responsibility of the council is information dissemination. By publishing reports, the council aims to spread awareness of current energy issues facing Canada. Regarding policy creation, the group also aids in assessing proposed energy policies, making sure that these are effective in addressing current and future energy concerns in the country.
